In a world saturated with evolution and humanism, the fact that our material universe was created by a supernatural God must be taught to our children. Several laws of science agree with the Bible’s teachings.

For example, the Law of Cause and Effect states that every material effect has an adequate prior cause.

The first part of this visual shows children three things they recognize—cupcake, pajamas, and crayons—and the cause behind them—baker, seamstress, and crayon factory, hidden under a flap. In each case, the cause came before the effect—the baker has to exist before she can make the cupcake, the seamstress has to exist before she can make the pajamas, and the factory has to exist before it can make the crayons. Ask students for other cause and effect examples.

The second part of this visual shows children playing in the dirt, picking wildflowers, and climbing on rocks. The fact that those things exist shows that something—in this case, someone– greater than the natural world exists to make those things. That someone is God.

Simple, colorful, and effective, this visual is a useful tool when teaching our young ones that the Eternal God is the only adequate cause for our world.
