The Bible records many examples of Christians caring for others. One beautiful story is Dorcas. Acts 9 tells how she cared for widows and others by making them clothes and providing for them in other ways, too. One day Dorcas died and the church was so sad they sent for Peter. He came and listened to their story of the good things Dorcas did. Then he sent them all from the room and prayed. God brought her back to life!

This shaped flipchart is an effective illustration of the Dorcas story. The simple pictures especially appeal to the younger students. The pages illustrate the following points:
1 .A very special Christian lady named Dorcas lived in Joppa. Her name was Tabitha.
2.She made clothes for widows, gave money to poor people, and helped people every way she could.
3.She got sick and died.
4.The disciples in Joppa sent two men to ask Peter to come.
5.The widows cried and showed Peter the clothes Dorcas had made.
6.Peter sent everyone out of the room, kneeled down, and prayed. Dorcas opened her eyes!
7.Peter called all the disciples and widows and showed them that Dorcas was alive again.
