The Old Testament speaks of Abraham as a man of faith, family, and obedience. The New Testament gives us another perspective on this great man: "he was called the friend of God."
This visual uses the letters in "friend" to describe Abraham's life. Each page shows the word being discussed, an image of a Bible account, and a Bible passage regarding that account. As you complete each account, remove the capital letter from the page and place on a wall or magnetic board. When the pages are complete, you will have the word "Friend" displayed. Add the "of God" piece to it. Continue the lesson by asking what we can do to be the friend of God today. How do we demonstrate faith; how do we show reverence, etc.?
