God had promised Judah that they would go into captivity for their unfaithfulness. He kept that promise.
He also promised them that after 70 years in captivity, they would go home again. This visual illustrates the stories of the three waves of returns led by Zerubbabel, Ezra, and Nehemiah. The purpose for each return is part of this visualized story.
Each piece of the stories is on a "stone.” As you tell the story, put the stone on a wall (5 across starting with the "Cyrus” piece on the bottom row far left and build 4 rows high; last one on top). When you have used all the pieces, you discover that you have built a wall just like the Jews did following Nehemiah’s return!
Use all pieces during one class session or use the stones over a few class sessions which shows how it took a period of time for the city to be completed!
